OBJECTIVES AND ROLES OF FOREST PRODUCT DEPARTMENT

In compliance with the vision and mission, the objectives of the Department of Forest Products are :

  1. To create education program which obtain professional and good character of graduates.
  2. To develop academic society life, achieved through professional higher education management system.
  3. To advance research and technology innovation which accelerate the development and application of science, technology and art of forest products utilization.
  4. To provide infrastructure for education, research and extension
  5. To create conducive environment for a dynamic extracurricular activities
  6. To expand and to extend national and international cooperation.

As a trend-setter higher education institution, the Department of Forest Products IPB is a responsible for both educational activity and development of forest products science and technology in the industrial application.  The Department of Forest Products creates the program that applies science and technology for the public services.  This activity links the scientific program with public needs and assists the development in society.

Department of Forest Products has also carried out collaboration work with national and international institution in the field of education, research and community services.  The national institution involved in the collaboration such as Ministry of Forestry, Ministry of National Education, Industrial Ministry, private institution and company.

The Forest Products Department IPB is also engaged international collaboration involving international universities, research institute and private institution or company. Collaboration with the international university mainly involves various exchange program and post graduate study for lecturer, researcher, technician, and students.   The research institutions involved in the collaboration work are ITTO, CIFOR, GTZ, WRI, IWoRs, and Wood Industry Association.
